intuVision VA Event - Pedestrian Count

Pedestrian Counting is available in intuVision VA Traffic and counts people along user marked zones of interest in plazas, on sidewalks, or at crosswalks.

Pedestrian Counting Event

Pedestrian Counting Event is available in intuVision VA’s Traffic module.

Pedestrian Counting counts people along user marked zones of interest in plazas, on sidewalks or at crosswalks.

Unlimited number of event zones can be used to select count regions, they can be made as specific or broad as needed, and direction of motion can also be used to get directional counts – providing nuanced reporting separated by region and direction.

Using object classification, all vehicles are excluded from the counts, even in areas with both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. intuVision classification also makes it possible to differentiate between categories of pedestrians, for instance people with umbrellas, people with strollers, etc.

Count data is accessed through intuVision VA reporting, exported in CSV format, or accessed through intuVision Data API for ingestion into other data management applications. Counts are saved in intuVision VA for 2 years by default, with the option to extend that duration. Comparison reports showing counts over different time periods such as week-to-week, month-to-month are available.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Direction of motion.
  • Further classification for people such as people with strollers.

When combined with compound events and unlimited object classification options, Pedestrian Counting Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, directional pedestrian counts can be paired with a crowd detection event to correlate the number of people crossing a bridge with the size of the crowd.
