intuVision VA Event - Parking Occupancy

Parking Spot Occupancy monitors the selected parking spots, tracking their status as occupied or available.

Parking Spot Occupancy

Parking Spot Occupancy Event is available in intuVision VA’s Parking module.

Parking Spot Occupancy monitors the selected parking spots, tracking their status as occupied or available. With minimal infrastructure requirements it provides a cost-effective and easily maintained solution compared to other parking sensors. The occupancy data can be integrated with signage, parking apps, or online dashboards to direct traffic entering parking facilities in realtime. Historic data can be used to track occupancy over time for statistical purposes.

In setting up this event, a convenient grid with customizable columns and rows, facilitates easy demarcation of the parking spots. intuVision VA classification learns what comprises a full vs. empty parking space allows tailoring Parking Occupancy detection to any scene.

Depending on the parking facility layout and camera position, typical camera views for outdoor lots allow coverage for 25-40 parking spots, and for garages 5-10 parking spots. For large parking lots or garages occupancy can be monitored across multiple camera views.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Number of rows/columns, parking grid placement and spot labeling,
  • Sensitivity to spot status change between occupied and available states,
  • Grace period, controlling the time to update the spot status.
intuVision security video analytics detect after hours suspicious loitering outside facility.

When combined with output triggers, compound events, and unlimited object classification options, Parking Occupancy can be further refined, to be used to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, spot availability data can be sent in real-time to an online dashboard used to direct guests to open parking.
