intuVision VA Event - Left Object

 

Left Object is a manufacturing and security event that detects when an object is left unattended in the scene longer than the user specified time

Left Object Event

Left Object Event is available in intuVision VA’s Manufacturing and Security modules.

Left Object detects when an object is left unattended in the scene longer than the user specified time by selecting the duration, as well as the minimum distance from other active objects. Left Object leverages the patented intuVision VA stationary object detector, maintaining objects which have come to a stop and alerting when they reach the user set duration. Using the Stationary Object Detector, stopped objects are maintained throughout temporary exclusions, such as people walking in front of a left suitcase in a terminal.

In security domain, Left Object event is used in airports, subway stations, and other areas where left items are a security concern. Multiple event zones, alarm durations, and customizable distance from active objects allow tailoring event settings to any scene. Left object detection has even been used in prison yards to detect objects thrown over walls or dropped by drones.

In manufacturing domain, Left Object event can be used to encourage and create a clean and safe working environment – by alerting on items which have fallen off of conveyor belts. People, forklifts, and other allowable objects can be excluded from alerts, leading to reliable notifications and early cleanup.

Along with custom classification training, intuVision VA has the capability to list objects to exclude from event alerts. This is ideal for use cases where the object of interest could be many items such as a suitcase, backpack, purse, shopping bag, etc. Since it is impractical to train and list all of the objects, known common object types can be excluded – such as the cleaning crew’s carts and mobile trash bins.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Idle duration, in seconds, minutes, or hours.
  • Minimum distance from active objects.
  • If objects touching the edge of the video should generate alerts.
  • Unlimited number of event zones can be used to select alert regions.

When combined with compound events and flexible output trigger options, Left Object can be further refined, to be used for meeting custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, an audio alert can be sent to the security station when a left object is detected at a critical area.
