intuVision VA Event - Coverage

 

Coverage is an intuVision VA Manufacturing and Retail event which tracks person movement within user marked zones of interest, maintaining a record of an employee at their post.

Coverage Event

Coverage Event is available in intuVision VA’s Manufacturing and Retail modules.

Coverage tracks person movement within user marked zones of interest, maintaining a record of an employee at their post. This event is typically used around a work station that is supposed to be manned in a manufacturing environment and, a sales counter or customer service desk in retail applications.

Unlimited number of event zones can be used as small or broad as needed to mark alert regions. Alerts are generated if someone has left their post for a user set duration and reports are generated to show the times where the station was left unattended. intuVision VA algorithms for maintaining tracks of stopped or slowly moving objects are leveraged in order to maintain tracking of people who are still for long periods of time while still at their post.

In the manufacturing domain, Coverage is used to track manufacturing processes and ensure that employees are at their workstations. While another event such as No Activity can be used to generate alerts when a critical position is left unattended, Coverage provides more nuanced data, to point out employees who are not following the Standard Operating Procedures.

In the retail domain, Coverage is used to manage employees, determine busy times of day, and better allocate resources. Depending on the environment, time periods where employees are not at their station could mean that there were more customers who needed help in store departments – or could point to employees who are avoiding their responsibilities.

Coverage data is accessed through intuVision VA reporting, exported in CSV format or accessed through intuVision Data API for ingestion into other data management applications. Coverage also includes a custom report type, which shows the percentage of time a work station was staffed, allowing easy review highlighting periods of time where the coverage was high or low.

Data is saved within intuVision VA for 2 years by default, with the option to extend that duration. Comparison reports showing counts over different time periods such as week-to-week, month-to-month are available.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Region of interest.
  • Direction of motion.
  • Object color – for instance employee uniform or PPE colors.

When combined with compound events and unlimited object classification options, Coverage Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, Coverage can be graphed against Customer Counts for the day, showing the correlation between staff coverage and number of customers.
