Enter/Exit Event

Enter/Exit Event is available in intuVision VA’s Security, Retail, and Traffic modules.

Enter/Exit detects when an object enters or exits the camera view through the user marked zone, with entry and exits labeled according to direction. Enter/Exit Event is ideal for tracking people or vehicle movements, with a focus on their ingress and egress from the scene. Widely used in people counting, as well as for various security, retail, and traffic applications.

In the retail domain, in addition to counting customers Enter/Exit is used to track people’s moving from one area to other in the store; for example to alert when someone enters a section, sending a sales associate over to assist – or, when configured to exclude people with employee uniforms, it could alert when a customer enters an employee only area.

In the security domain, Enter/Exit can be used to record entrances and exits secure areas from storage or equipment closets to high security records rooms. For example, it can be used to create a record of everyone who accessed certain parts of the facility. Enter/Exit event is also be used to alert security staff to intruders entering external doors after hours.

In the traffic domain, Enter/Exit is primarily used to track or count vehicles entering and exiting intersections, rotaries, parking lots, and private roads.

Optional and advanced settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

• Region of the scene through which objects enter or exit the scene.
• Monitoring only enters, exits, or “both”.
• Labeling the direction of travel as “enter” or “exit”.

When combined with compound events, Enter/Exit can be further refined, to be used for meeting custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, it can be used as part of a tailgate event when combined with the access control system state.
