intuVision VA Event - Surface Anomaly

 

Surface Anomaly is an intuVision VA Manufacturing event which monitors the texture of any surface, alerting when there is a significant change.

Surface Anomaly Event

Surface Anomaly Event is available in intuVision VA’s Manufacturing module.

Surface Anomaly monitors the texture of any surface, alerting when there is a significant change. A threshold for the change, sensitivity, and duration for the change to be present, allows customizing the alerts for several use cases such as spills, construction debris on the roads etc.

Used both indoors and outdoors environments, Surface Anomaly supports a safe, clean work environment, without relying on manual review or self-reporting. Instead of staff conducting periodic inspections to report to maintenance crews, Surface Anomaly sends alerts directly to management or maintenance when an issue is detected.

For outdoor applications, Surface Anomaly can be used in construction or parking lot management. Mud on roads during construction can be a danger and a nuisance for the neighborhood or snow build up in parking lots can result in unsafe driving for patrons.

For indoor applications, Surface Anomaly enables early intervention in case of spills. Depending on the environment spills of any kind -liquids or other material- can be hazardous. Timely alerts to clean-up keeps customers and employees safe and reduces downtime in production floors.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Threshold, which relates to the texture roughness of the expected anomalies.
  • Sensitivity, controls the level of anomaly to alert.
  • Trigger time, the duration for which the detected anomaly persist.

When combined with compound events and output trigger, Surface Anomaly Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, a message can be sent to maintenance staff when a surface anomaly is detected. If there is a surface anomaly present, and a forklift is detected moving towards that hallway, an audio siren can be triggered indicating unsafe passage.
