intuVision VA Event - Random Selector

Random Selector is compatible with all intuVision VA events and automatically counts object or detected events, and selects a user specified percentage of those for inspections.

Random Selector

Random Selector is an unbiased sampling mechanism, compatible with all intuVision VA events.

intuVision Random Selector automatically counts object or detected events, and selects a user specified percentage of those for inspections. Using the automated random selector ensures there is no user bias, contrary to personnel manually selecting people, vehicles or items and events for inspections. The random selections notification can be tied into an I/O module or other alert system for expanding the functionality.

In the manufacturing environment, Random Selector provides a tool for quality control checks. A set percentage of objects can be selected, checking for production errors or discrepancies that a biased selection method might miss.

In the security domain, Random Selector reduces the load on gatekeepers, and provides an unbiased method for performing random checks. It is perfect for airports, border crossings, or any place where random checks of people or vehicles are performed.

In the traffic and parking domains, intuVision’s reliable analytics counts vehicles such as at an entry gate, access road or at an exit ramp; and the Random Selector selects a user set percentage of them for randomized inspections.

In addition to the module specific use-case examples above, the random selector is perfect to be used as an auditing tool for all applications, to review a small random percentage of events, to gain an overview of system and staff performance.

For counting events, snapshots can be saved for only the specified percentage of counted objects, be it vehicles, people or item on a conveyor belt. These randomly selected items are then reviewed to ensure counting of intended objects, without needing to save all snapshots associated with all counts. In case of alarm events, the system can be set-up to send a subset of detected events to management, for example to perform auditing staff responses. Email notifications can be set up to send events with snapshots for easier review.

When combined with compound events and output trigger options, Random Selector can be further refined, to be used for meeting custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, tying random selector output to an I/O module can trigger an audio alert or flashing light when a person or vehicle is selected at an airport for randomized searches. This creates an obvious alert for security staff, without requiring a monitor in each guard station.
