Pedestrian Activity Event is available in intuVision VA’s Traffic module.
Pedestrian Activity detects person movement within user marked zones of interest, for example generating alerts on people walking in bike lanes or hitchhiking along highways.
Unlimited number of event zones can be used as small or broad as needed to select alert regions. Direction of motion for pedestrian activity can be specified making possible to alert only on the activity of interest – for example allowing pedestrians to walk along crosswalks, while alerting on J-walking.
Using object classification, other moving objects such as animals or people on bikes are excluded from the alerts, even in areas with both pedestrian and bicycle traffic. intuVision classification also makes it possible to differentiate between categories of pedestrians, for instance people with shopping carts or strollers, large groups of people, etc.
A person’s activity duration in the scene can be tracked, and used in generating alerts, for instance to differentiate between people waiting to cross the road vs. hitchhikers or panhandlers staying for longer periods of time.
Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:
When combined with compound events and unlimited object classification options, Pedestrian Activity Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, Pedestrian Activity can be used in conjunction with Vehicle Detection to warn a potential near-miss happens either at a crosswalk or on a road.
