intuVision VA Forklift Detection

Forklift Detection Event is available in intuVision VA’s Manufacturing module.

Forklift Detection tracks forklifts in production floors, warehouses and construction areas, ensuring safety and collecting business intelligence to help optimize procedures.

Unlimited number of event zones can be used as small or broad as needed to select alert regions. Direction of motion for forklift movement can be specified making possible to alert only on the activity of interest – for example allowing forklifts to travel on marked pathways, while alerting when they stray from designated areas.

Using object classification, moving objects such as other machinery, vehicles, and people are excluded from the alerts, even in areas with mixed forklift traffic. intuVision classification is trainable and customizable, working with standard forklifts, as well as with any custom machinery or unusual camera views.

Various behaviors in the scene can be detected, for instance alerting if a forklift has stopped in a certain area, if the forklift moves too close to a person, or tracking where the forklift has moved throughout the day. Counts on these events can be used to convert activities to actionable data, and heatmaps can be used to give an overview of the paths most frequently taken by forklifts.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

• Direction of motion.
• Duration spent in the zone or in the scene.

When combined with compound events and unlimited object classification options, Forklift Detection Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, Forklift Detection can be used in conjunction with Person Direction to detect when a person is dangerously in the way of a forklift. It can also be used with output triggers to sound an alert if a forklift is around a blind corner from a person.
