intuVision VA Event - Object Counting

Object Counting is an intuVision VA Manufacturing event which detects when any object enters or exits the camera view through the user marked zone, with entry and exits labeled according to direction of motion.

Object Counting Event

Object Counting Event is available in intuVision VA’s Manufacturing module.

Object Counting detects when any object enters or exits the camera view through the user marked zone, with entry and exits labeled according to direction of motion. Object Counting is typically used to track and optimize the manufacturing process, counting objects along conveyor belts at various states.

Unlimited number of count zones can be used as small or broad as needed to count objects, allowing counts for multiple machines, belts, or stations from one camera view.

Using intuVision VA’s trainable object classification, the type of object can be defined for each application – be it boxes, trays, loaves of bread or pallets. While objects must be sufficiently different, this can be used to separate counts of objects or flag when an out of place item is on a production line.

With intuVision VA's Occupancy feature, object counts can be combined or compared across multiple machines, for example combining the item counts on the phase-1 part of the production, and comparing that value against the phase-2 production line to track any loss.

Object count data is accessed through intuVision VA reporting, exported in CSV format or accessed through intuVision Data API for ingestion into other data management applications. Counts are saved within intuVision VA for 2 years by default, with the option to extend that duration. Comparison reports showing item counts over different time periods such as week-to-week, month-to-month are available.

Optional settings are available to fine-tune the event, including:

  • Region through which objects enter or exit the scene.
  • Monitoring only enters, exits, or “both”.
  • Labeling the direction of motion as “enter” or “exit”.

When combined with compound events and unlimited object classification options, Object Count Event can be further refined, to meet custom video analytics requirements with our off-the-shelf product without the need for any development time. For example, counts of objects on dual purpose conveyor belts can be separated with object classification.
