All intuVision VA modules now offer two complementary object detection methods - providing the most effective detection and tracking, no matter the challenges present in video scenes and project requirements.

Our patented Pixel-Based Object Detection is a reliable way of tracking active objects in video, and makes it possible to detect any moving object, regardless of its type/class. When using this method, intuVision VA's convenient in-situ model training enables classifying objects in countless user defined categories, from people to fish, using just a few samples. intuVision VA version 18 introduces the alternate method of detection using a multitude of Pre-trained Object Models, expanding the reach of intuVision VA to more challenging scenes and environments across many application areas.

The model-based detection method is particularly effective for counting people and vehicles in low camera views and in scenes where cast shadows interfere with distinguishing objects; while pixel-based detection shines in environments where the object type may be not known in advance, in custom video analytics applications, and in conventional top-down camera views.
